Week of April 1

Dear Parents, I hope you are having a pleasant weekend.

The Spring Creek word of the week was - - Independent. I am sadly sitting here right now, because I am not being independent. My battery died and I am waiting on my husband to return from the farm to give me a jump. I am ever so thankful that I my battery decided not to work while it sits safely in the garage. Personal goal for the week: learn to use a battery charger.

Our students, however, are beginning to be problem solvers and independent in the classroom. Small issues that arise are no longer needing my assistance, and it makes me proud when I see their independence.

This past week our third graders experienced what a real STAAR test day would be like. The test taken was the 2018 math and reading STAAR test. We will be sending home your child’s performance data next week. You will be able to see what skills were on the test. The data will also include not only how they performed, but what answers they chose for each question along with the correct answer choice. You can go to the TEA website to view or download a copy of these tests to review the questions if you please.

Field Trip on Monday!! Please remember students should wear this year’s cardinal t-shirt, bring a lunch (including a drink) in a clear zip-lock bag clearly labeled with name. We will go to A&M for the Story Pirates performance and then each lunch at Bee Creek Park. We will return to school after lunch.
